About the Foundation

Krazy About Kats Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit tax exempt public charity.  As a no-kill humane organization dedicated to providing a state of the art temporary home for abandoned and displaced cats and kittens in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, GA, our goal is to provide the most suitable permanent placement for cats and kittens that need quality homes while educating adoptive candidates about responsible pet ownership and high pet care.

The facility will include the country's first feline Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for mothers and kittens of all ages. The NICU (photographic renderings shown on the left) is a necessary facility to protect the fragile lives of newborn kittens who lack the immunities to share the same air with adult cats. Newborn kittens are born with very little immunity to any diseases. It is only through nursing their mother in a protected environment that kittens can develop properly and be able to sustain life in other areas of the facility. These kittens will then be spayed/neutered to prevent additional unwanted litters.

The NICU will be a welcoming environment that includes bonding areas, specialized
veterinarian services, as well as educational video viewing areas for adoptive parents. The NICU will also offer educational tours for school children and others who desire an opportunity to learn more about the early developmental stages of the lives of kittens and will mirror the facilities that are already in place across the country for human babies.

The mission of Krazy About Kats is to provide the best possible temporary and permanent home for displaced and abandoned cats and kittens, with one on one interaction and education focused on the highest level of pet ownership now and forever.  The goals and objectives include and are not limited to placing all cats and kittens in to qualified homes locally, also offering out of state transport and permanent placement with reputable homes for the overpopulated cats and kittens in the Atlanta area.  Education will provide the key to helping school children, parents, and singles understand the complexity of adoption, rescue, responsible and irresponsible pet ownership.

All animal programs, adoptions, and clinic services will instill the business philosophy of honesty, integrity, organization, and stellar animal care without misuse or negligence in any standard of operation.  Krazy About Kats will be designed to provide the most effective focal point for cat adoption and while encouraging community interaction to increase the local spirit.
